Template — review with a professional before launch. This is placeholder boilerplate and is not legal advice.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data ShareYourJourney.today (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the third parties that help us run it. The Service is operated by an independent solo founder (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

2. Data we collect

GitHub public data — when you connect GitHub, we read your public username, avatar, and public contribution history (commit counts per day, releases, and similar activity). We use this to build and render your journey.

Account & contact data — your email address (used for magic-link sign-in and account notifications) and any display name or notes you add to your journey.

Payment metadata — when you purchase, Stripe processes your payment and returns metadata such as a customer ID, the amount, and payment status. We never receive or store your full card number.

Basic usage & device data — we collect anonymized analytics events and standard log data (such as IP-derived region and browser type) to understand usage and keep the Service reliable.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and operate the Service: rendering your journey profile and widgets, authenticating you, processing your one-time payment, sending account-related emails, and improving and securing the product.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your contribution data for any purpose other than building the journey you asked us to create.

4. Third-party services

GitHub — used for OAuth sign-in and to read your public contribution history. See GitHub’s privacy statement for how they handle your data.

Stripe — processes payments and stores the relevant billing information. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

Cloudflare — hosts and serves the Service (Workers, D1 database, CDN) and provides security and performance.

PostHog — provides privacy-conscious product analytics so we can understand how the Service is used.

Zoho ZeptoMail — delivers transactional emails such as sign-in magic links and account notices.

5. Data sharing & public content

Your published journey profile, widgets, and embeddable SVG card are public by design — anyone with the link can view them. Do not include anything in your notes that you would not want to be public.

We share data with the third-party processors listed above only as needed to run the Service, and we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

6. Data retention & your rights

We keep your account and journey data for as long as your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your journey and associated personal data, subject to records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (for example, payment records).

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service, plus limited analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.

9. Contact
